Complimentary consultation

If you are considering coming to our office for orthodontic treatment, here's what you should expect on your first visit:

1. If you've previously called for a new patient exam, two forms, a general info/medical history form and HIPAA privacy act form will have been mailed out to you for completion in advance (or you can download our child or adult forms.)

2. Upon arrival at our office, you will be warmly greeted by Janel, Liz, Cindy, Jamie, Megan, Sue, and/or Dr. de Jesus.

3. Dr. de Jesus will discuss your concerns with you, and then complete the orthodontic exam. Next we will present preliminary diagnostic information, treatment options/recommendations are discussed, and we'll answer any questions you may have (total consultation time approximately 20-30 minutes).

4. Normally, x-rays are only recommended if the patient is ready to begin treatment, or there is a significant problem requiring more info for proper diagnosis.

5. For those who know they would like to get started with braces right away, initial patient records can be made at this time (approx. 20-30 minutes).

Remember, new patient orthodontic exams should be very low stress, mostly careful measurements of teeth and jaws and discussing what is diagnosed.

For clients/patients proceeding with treatment, a treatment conference appointment is scheduled for after the doctor has evaluated your records and developed a custom, comprehensive treatment plan. We will discuss your treatment with you in detail, including the cost and payment plan(s) for your particular case.

Regular appointments

The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes one to two hours. You'll then see us at regular intervals four to eight weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 40 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately.
